The BioLight 300 microscope features a Delta Optical DLT-Cam Basic 2 MP camera. The improved optical system makes the microscope image clearer and more contrasting. This makes it possible to observe simple biological preparations (plant and animal tissues), insects, minerals, plants, stamps, coins, gemstones, electronic circuits and much more.
The Delta Optical DLT-Cam Basic 2 MP color camera features a 2-megapixel sensor and acts as a digital eyepiece. Mounting is simple and involves sliding it into the eyepiece tube, after pulling out the standard one. It is designed for tubes with an inner diameter of 23.2 mm, which are found in most biological microscopes. For stereoscopic microscopes (such as the Delta Optical Discovery), a 30.5 mm adapter is required.
Main applications:
- controlling the live image on the computer screen through the functions of freeze, scale, adjust to window, full-screen preview, resolution selection, vertical and horizontal reflection,
- taking pictures and videos through automatic image saving mode in various formats,
- measurement functions, including area and perimeter calculations,
- sharing microscope images via a multimedia projector or interactive whiteboard.
The camera is compatible with Windows: Vista/2008/Windows 7/8/8.1/10 (32-bit and 64-bit) and does not require additional drivers. Delta Optical DLTCamViewer software is in Polish language version.
The microscope can be powered by a standard power connection or by three AA-type batteries, so observations can also be made on a field trip (e.g. to a pond to observe aquatic microorganisms). When using regular batteries, the equipment should be unplugged from the mains.
The handle incorporated into the tripod makes it easy to carry safely and securely (in the case of children, the risk of dropping the device is minimized). Coaxial micro and macro focus screws and a mechanism for moving the slide (with marked graduations) were used, giving the possibility of very precise positioning.
With a 10x/16 WF eyepiece and three achromatic lenses (4x, 10x, 40x), it allows magnifications in the range of 40-400x. LED illumination gives you the ability to observe in transmitted and reflected light. The filter wheel allows you to maneuver and get the right filter, preventing unwanted overexposure or blackouts.
